the coming of anti-christ
The world used to be a magical place then, any movies we watched, cartoons we liked or religious parables read to us, filled the worlds of our imagination. It had obviously its own limitations and rules, which we were just beginning to understand, such as going to school regularly etc nonetheless being teen can be so much fun.
But as we all know that it starts to change at some point, different influences, events, environment start to play a part in our outlook on life, on our choices. Going to school, mosque, friends and relatives were part of the social life. In religious societies such as our religion lays down some of the strictest rules and thus prove a major influence on our social conscience.
One such concept is of the virtue and sin. Virtuous people who are truthful, honest, pray etc will go to heaven while those who deceive, lie and sin will be condemned to hell.
So its imaginable that when someone suddenly decided to do a documentary about End of Times, it got really famous, people started talking about it and some saying that finally something important has been addressed. It was a must watch then, thus it starts the end of my childhood and teenage fantasies. Bad Choice!
The documentary was well made, its narrative carefully chosen, its context cleverly isolated as most excellent documentaries often does.
The documentary did its job, my world starts to become a grim place, its foundations shaken to the very ground. You begin to realize that world is a big messed up place, Afghanistan and Iraq war raging on, talk about terrorism everywhere, lucidity eating away peoples moral etc the propaganda machinery of all kinds in full function. It was like an invasion of my little world. All of this chaos pointed to a very real possibility, the end of world and thus the forthcoming of Anti-Christ.
A major focus was placed on the concept of Anti-Christ in the said documentary. In summary, Antichrist would soon appear and would tempt us to join him in its evil; If we may choose wrongly then we will be condemned forever to the hell. However, if we make the right choice we will be awarded the ultimate prize of Heaven. It has been described in religious scriptures that aura of Anti-Christ will be irresistible, his fear will be ultimate, so much that the saintliest and brave hearted will even fell for it.
Thus a long journey of personal battle begins……………… Heaven and Hell which has been worked out so well in our minds and daily routines, are crumbling.
The Messianic Age is a theological term referring to a future time of universal peace and brotherhood on the earth, without crime, war and poverty. Many Abrahamic religions believe that there will be such an age; some refer to it as the consummate “kingdom of God”, “paradise”, Peaceable Kingdom, or the “world to come”. (Wikipedia)
Antichrist is a Christian term based on interpretation of passages in the New Testament, in which the term “antichrist” occurs five times in First John and Second John once in plural form and four times in the singular. In some Christian eschatologies, Jesus, the Christ or Messiah, will appear in his Second Coming to Earth to face the Antichrist, who will be the greatest false messiah in Christianity. Just as Christ is the savior and the ideal model for humanity, his opponent will be a single figure of concentrated evil, according to Bernard McGinn. In Islamic eschatology, Masih ad-Dajjal is an anti-messiah figure (similar to the Christian concept of Antichrist), who will appear to deceive humanity before the second coming of “Isa” as Jesus is known by Arabic-speaking Muslims.
