leading the art of being yourself

leading is a just natural state of mind, its permission to be yourself. The essence by which you allow yourself to be yourself, is the ultimate core of leading. Since so many of us are out of touch with ourselves that no one really understands the value of connection that one build with oneself. One’s connection with oneself is the ultimate ingredient of all of our social behaviours, leading is a fundamental spirit of the human nature. Those of us built with this connection within themselves more often than not will find them self in the position of leading others, because of the courage and confidence given to them through this personal connection.

It is a skill that is cultivable within ourselves through constant and deliberate practice, by asking yourself questions continuously like “What kind of behaviour I would like to demonstrate in a given situation?” then by simply following through on the answers that are provided from within yourself.

This constant practice of self-reflection may not almost always result in an active leading position (certain job title), but it will always result in a place of useful contribution for yourself, for people around you, working at something really positive and important.

What we often fail to understand about leadership is that it’s not about some desire to lead others, or dominate others, improve our lives or salaries, it is really an attempt by us to live by our ideals, values, whenever human spirit looks to do so, it will find itself in a position of leading. Leadership (leading) is not a job title, its more of a state of mind by which we choose to live our lives, express ourselves, make active contributions. Once we have distilled down leadership to its core’ the possibilities are endless, it almost becomes formless, it becomes a highly effective working machine, a team, an organisation, a set of people, a group of thinkers, a cause. In this machine sometimes you will effectively allow yourself to be led by others, cause that will be the right thing to do, cause that brings the greatest value, the usual suckers that someone else’s ideas are better than yours will not matter anymore, what will matter is though the inherent trust that you will build in your team mates ability to get the job done.

Beyond all of this, demonstration of this kind of leadership is also an optimal survival strategy for everyone, an achievement mechanism which seeks to maximise the value for everyone. In an increasingly complex world, where ideals, goals and ambitions are now more diverse than ever, where all of us would like to achieve more value from our lifetime on this earth, only by questioning, improving, adapting at the most basic level of understanding we can hope to achieve something of beauty and fitting nature for this technological world that we are moving onto.
