Human brain essentially works by processing information in small packets. Normally our brain is wired to run our daily lives professionally, personally, spiritually and via other belief systems. In order to create the space for new skill, habits, we have to essentially empty out the current processing capacity of the brain to some extent like a computer RAM, it’s a conscious choice always which we make for various degrees and types of motivation.
When we essentially deconstruct a new skill that we are aiming to learn, we are working with our capacity of brain, we feed it in small parts, the chances of it sticking around in our life increases, Slowly overtime it generates a pace of its own, as it begins occupy more & more of the habitual functioning of the brain, like getting into a newer relationship, taking on more responsibilities on the job etc.
When we are overwhelmed in the face of new situations, new challenges in the life, it’s not a matter of our ability, it’s a matter of having a practical solution, understanding how our brain works helps a lot in this regard.
In deconstructing a skill we essentially understands the limitation of our brain, in the way it processes the information, while doings we are also appreciating our existing behaviours & habits that have been around in our lives for sometime. The reasons for which University Education, short courses work so well, because they offer you the opportunity to learn something new in a structured manner, over a period of time. This fact is so easily overlooked in the normal course of life, it’s worthwhile to remind ourselves of something of which all of us have some experience in one form or another.
